Since Shug and I were traveling by ourselves for the last leg of our trip, we thought it would be fun to change up the typical "subject holds the camera" self portraits. You know, the pictures where one person holds the camera with an outstretched arm and everyone always looks out of proportion and a little pained?
We started taking pics of ourselves in all of the mirrors we came across in the museums we were able to visit in Paris. The first pic in the Louvre proved to be inspirational, since the guy standing next to us did the same thing after we snapped out shot!
It was fun to get pictures of ourselves surrounded by the architecture and art of these amazing museums. Some of the pics in the Centre Pompidou the mirrors were actually part of the installations! Despite some of our somber faces, we were having so much fun when we took the pictures!

"Are We in Disneyland?"
This was a phase uttered more than once and quite possibly in the wee hours of the Irish morning while we were in Kinsale, Ireland. Hall was convinced that we had somehow stumbled into Disneyland Ireland on our way from Dublin. We would just laugh and silently agree that, yes, this little town was straight out of a storybook.
The morning before the wedding, Shug and I took a quick stroll through town to snap a few shots. It was deserted! That was one of the many things I really appreciated about Irish culture is the light Irish workday. Stores and shops open around 9 or 10ish, close for a two hour lunch sometimes, and then close up for the day around 6. We Americans need to take a lesson in European work schedules!
Since no one was out and about yet, we couldn't ask anyone to take our picture of us together. We tried to get creative by leaning the camera on a windowsill, but unfortunately even Photoshop couldn't fix this!

Camera Bag Dupe
If anyone knows Shug, they know he looooves photography.
Our camera count in the house is at an all-time-high of 26.
Yes, 26 cameras live in our house.
The funnier part of this equation is that we have ONE
functioning camera bag that Shug deplores.
I thought this Fjallraven Backback would be a good lil' bugger to lug around a few of those cameras!

Birthday Present

Shug got a Blackbird for his b-day!
I love that it looks vintage and uses *gasp* film...
I think I may have to borrow it just a little,
but Shug has to load the film.
I still can't get it right.

Serves Me Right.
Remember how p.o.'d I was a week or so ago because Shug kept on buying himself stuff during the holidays? Well, after serving myself a big ol' slice of hypocrite pie, I decided to buy myself something before Christmas: a new camera. This camera was supposed to make my dreams come true. It was miniature, cute, vintage-looking, digital, uber-portable, cute, came in a fancy-schmancy wooden box, weighed mere ounces, and it was cute. Did I mention how cute this camera was? I wanted, nay, I NEEDED this little beauty to be perfect. Why? Well, I didn't consult Shug about purchasing it...I just up and bought it myself...Without consulting the world's expert-on-damn-near-everything-camera about it!
Annnnd, let's just say that I have learned that cameras that are cute don't always take the best pictures....
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
It's being shipped back today...Shug's gloating has added the insult to cute camera injury.
